Weekly Game Breakdowns

Detroit 20 Chicago 24

Our Picks: Chicago (W ) – Chicago -5.5 (L) – Under 37 (L)

Throughout most of this game it appeared that 3rd String quarterback David Blough might give Lions fans a Thanksgiving victory. However, that did not happen. The Bears prevailed and are simply a better team at this point in the season. Detroit has been decimated by injuries and their season has completely fallen apart. The Bears fought back and secured a 4 point victory in Detroit. The biggest surprise for me in this game was the amount of points scored.

Dallas 15 Buffalo 26

Our Picks: Buffalo (W ) – Buffalo +6.5 (W ) – Under 46.5 (W )

Buffalo was definitely our pick of the week. Many people have been dogging on the Bills despite their record. I absolutely love Buffalo’s defense and have been impressed with Josh Allen’s progression throughout the year. Dallas has been so inconsistent in 2019, that I let it ride with Buffalo and it paid off. Definitely happy with the results of this game playing our in our favor.

Atlanta 18 New Orleans 26

Our Picks: New Orleans (W ) – New Orleans -6.5 (W ) – Over 48.5 (L)

I didn’t think that the Saints were going to let another game slip against Atlanta here. Despite their best attempt to give this game away late, the Saints held on and sealed the late Thanksgiving day victory. They were well above the line to cover, but some late scores by the Falcons made the final score much closer than the actual game was.

Cincinnati 22 NY Jets 6

Our Picks: NY Jets (L) – NY Jets -3.5 (L) – Over 41.5 (L)

The Bengals finally get into the win column! That means that there will not be a winless team in 2019. Cincinnati put it on the Jets in this matchup, and Sam Darnold and company looked as bad as they have all season long. Cincinnati still holds the worst record in the league, but the Jets performance this season has been just about as impressive.

Indianapolis 17 Tennessee 31

Our Picks: Indianapolis (L) – Indianapolis -1.5 (L) – Over 43 (W )

This game was on the brink of breaking either way for a majority of it. The Colts and Titans were tied at 17 in the second half, but a couple of big plays from the Titans ended up being the difference and dropped another loss into the Colts record. I anticipated that the Colts would get the victory at home, but the Ryan Tannehill led Titans got things done on the road as they are still grasping on to their shot at the playoffs.

Miami 37 Philadelphia 31

Our Picks: Philadelphia (L) – Philadelphia -10 (L) – Under 44.5 (L)

Every time Philadelphia has a chance to make up ground in the NFC East, they seem to squander it. With Dallas losing on Thursday, the Eagles had a great opportunity to pull even with the Cowboys in the division and put some pressure on their rivals. However, the Miami Dolphins had different plans and stole one from the Eagles. Philadelphia didn’t have an answer for Miami all game long en route to giving up 37 points to one of the worst scoring teams in the league.

NY Giants 13 Green Bay 31

Our Picks: Green Bay (W ) – Green Bay -7 (W ) – Over 44.5 (L)

This pick was probably my strongest lock of the week. The Packers were treated to a snowy day in New Jersey for this game, so they felt like they were playing right in Lambeau. Both offensively and defensively the Packers were superior and they came away with a relatively easy victory over the struggling Giants. We fell a half point shy of hitting the over, but I’ll take the easy straight up and spread wins.

Pittsburgh 20 Cleveland 13

Our Picks: Cleveland (L) – Cleveland -2.5 (L) – Under 39 (W )

Pittsburgh just continues to win despite all the odds stacked against them. They have been decimated by the injury bug, but Mike Tomlin just keeps slotting players into positions and makes it work. The Steelers now find themselves in the 6th seed as they work on holding that position and clinching a playoff game. Cleveland on the other hand, finds themselves basically down and out for the playoff push with this loss to their division rival.

Carolina 21 Washington 29

Our Picks: Carolina (L) – Washington +10 (W ) – Over 38.5 (W )

I think everyone can finally put the “Carolina is better off without Cam Newton” idea. The Panthers did not look good against Washington, as they really couldn’t do what they needed to do throughout this game. The Panthers should have scored more points, should have slowed down Washington more, and should have won this game easily. That was not the case, as the Redskins come away with the win.

Jacksonville 11 Tampa Bay 28

Our Picks: Tampa Bay (W ) – Tampa Bay -3 (W ) – Over 48 (L)

Jacksonville continues to struggle on the offensive side of the ball regardless of who is taking the snaps. The Jags had hoped Nick Foles would provide some spark after recovering from the collarbone injury, but he was completely ineffective in this game, resulting in Foles being benched for Gardner Minshew. Minshew will be the starting quarterback for the remainder of the season. Tampa gets another win as they continue their march to the middle of the league.

Baltimore 20 San Francisco 17

Our Picks: Baltimore (W ) – Baltimore -6 (L) – Over 46 (L)

In our Week 13 game of the week, the Ravens eeked out a win against the tough 49ers team. Though the Ravens didn’t put up gaudy numbers like they have all season long, Lamar Jackson was every bit as impressive as he faced the toughest defense in the league. This very well could be a Super Bowl preview as both teams continue powering through the rest of the league. This loss however, drops San Francisco out of the number 1 seed and puts them down at number 5 with Seattle edging them out of the division lead.

Arizona 7 LA Rams 34

Our Picks: LA Rams (W ) – LA Rams -3 (W ) – Over 47.5 (L)

The Rams cruised to victory in Arizona in this one, as Los Angeles looked much more like the team from 2018 than the team we have seen all season long. LA will have their work cut out for them as they try to claw their way back into a playoff spot. The Rams chances of making the playoffs this season sits right around 25% as they have a very difficult schedule remaining, need some wins, and need other teams to lose some games.

Denver 23 LA Chargers 20

Our Picks: LA Chargers (L) – LA Chargers -3.5 (L) – Over 38 (W )

The Chargers continue to be one of the most disappointing team in the league in my mind. They have not lived up to their potential in the least bit, and this loss really caps off their poor play in 2019. They started slow, clawed their way back into the game, and then make a huge mistake with a PI call to give the Broncos the final field goal to seal the game.

Kansas City 40 Oakland 9

Our Picks: Kansas City (W ) – Oakland +11 (L) – Over 50 (L)

Kansas City is returning to form with Patrick Mahomes fully recovered and playing well. With Baltimore and Lamar Jackson getting all they hype in recent weeks, the Chiefs are catching fire quietly and will definitely have a say on how the AFC shapes up and who represents the conference in the Super Bowl. For the Raiders, this loss really hurts, as they now find themselves fighting for the 6 seed in the conference and trying to make up ground lost in back-to-back losses.

Houston 28 New England 22

Our Picks: New England (L) – New England -3.5 (L) – Under 46.5 (L)

Houston really dominated this game from start to finish. The final score does not do this game justice, as the Pats were completely shut down and really didn’t have much of a chance to come away victorious. With the Pats loss, they give up the number 1 seed in the AFC to the Ravens. For Houston, they are inching closer and closer to the AFC South title and have about a 75% chance of winning the division at this point in time.

Seattle 37 Minnesota 30

Our Picks: Seattle (W ) – Seattle -3 (W ) – Over 50 (W )

This was one of the more entertaining games of the week and we got to witness it on Monday Night. It was back and forth in the first half until Minnesota made some critical mistakes in the 3rd and let Seattle pull away. The Vikings didn’t give up as they fought back and made it close in the end. For Seattle, they now sit in the 2 seed and have the top spot in their division. The Vikings now find themselves a game back from the Packers with Green Bay holding the tie break. Minnesota might very well be fighting for a Wild Card spot after this tough loss in Seattle.
