Weekly Game Breakdowns

Cleveland 21 Pittsburgh 7

Our Picks: Pittsburgh (L) – Pittsburgh +2.5 (L) – Over 41.5 (L)

This game was the talk of the week after one of the nastiest and dirtiest fights I have seen on a football field. Despite all of the extra-curricular activity in this game, the Browns came out and really dominated this game. They controlled it really from the start to the finish. I really don’t see either team making a push for the playoffs at this point with where their records stand, but Cleveland definitely has a favorable schedule moving forward.

Detroit 27 Dallas 35

Our Picks: Dallas (W ) – Detroit +7 (L) – Under 47 (L)

Without Matthew Stafford the Lions are going to struggle. They were able to put up 27 points but they simply lack the firepower without Stafford to keep up with many teams. Their defense has been so dreadful that they need to score a lot of points to even stay in games. Dallas got the W like I predicted, but the Lions fell just short of covering the spread. A failed 2-point conversion sealed that fate late in the game.

Indianapolis 33 Jacksonville 13

Our Picks: Jacksonville (L) – Jacksonville +3 (L) – Under 43.5 (L)

We missed the boat on this pick. The thought was, that Nick Foles return to Jacksonville could reinvigorate the offense enough to keep pace with the Colts who have been inconsistent this season. That was not the case, and the Colts used their depth to beat the Jags quite easily.

Miami 20 Buffalo 37

Our Picks: Buffalo (W ) – Buffalo -6 (W ) – Over 41 (W )

The hot streak that Miami was on has come to an end. The Bills did what they have been doing all season long, and won another ugly game. Buffalo was able to put up a lot of points in this game and allowed us to get a clean sweep on the picks for this matchup. The Bills won, covered, and put up enough points for us to hit the over.

Minnesota 27 Denver 23

Our Picks: Minnesota (W ) – Denver +10.5 (W ) – Over 40 (W )

Denver almost pulled off the complete upset in this one, and it appeared that they would do it for most of the game. Minnesota started this one off extremely sluggish and that allowed the Broncos to hold the lead for most of the game. The Vikings did not quit though, as they clawed their way back all game and pulled off the comeback late in the game. Another good set of picks for us as the Vikings won, Broncos covered, and a enough points hit the board for the over.

Tampa Bay 17 New Orleans 34

Our Picks: New Orleans (W ) – New Orleans -5.5 (W ) – Over 50 (W )

New Orleans did not want another upset to slow them down, and they did not let that happen this week. They controlled this game from start to finish. The Saints cruised to a 17 point win, easily covering the 5.5 point spread.

Washington 17 NY Jets 34

Our Picks: NY Jets (W ) – NY Jets +1 (W ) – Over 39 (W )

Neither of these teams are going anywhere soon, as they should be right at the bottom of the league for the remainder of the year. In this particular game, the Redskins were the worse team. Washington continues to struggle in all fashions of the game and I honestly don’t see them winning another game all season long. I took the Jets in this one, and it paid off.

Carolina 3 Atlanta 29

Our Picks: Carolina (L) – Carolina -6 (L) – Over 49.5 (L)

This one might be the surprise of the week. Atlanta has won 2 big games in a row now, and they appear to look like the team that many thought they would be at the beginning of the year. Moving forward, the Falcons might give the rest of their schedule fits if they keep playing the way that they did in this one and the week prior.

Baltimore 41 Houston 7

Our Picks: Baltimore (W ) – Baltimore -4.5 (W ) – Over 51.5 (L)

This game disappointed me a little bit. I, like many other fans, was looking forward to a dogfight between these two teams. Baltimore had other plans. The Ravens jumped out early and never looked back. Deshaun Watson had no answer to what Lamar Jackson and the Ravens did on the scoreboard and it resulted in the biggest lopsided game of the week.

San Francisco 36 Arizona 26

Our Picks: San Francisco (W ) – Arizona +10.5 (W ) – Under 45 (L)

I sure am glad I got this one in at the 10.5 point spread because Arizona squeaked by on this spread. On social media Sunday Evening I sure saw a lot of dissapointed bettors who had the Cards and +10. Arizona had a lot of opportunities to actually win this game, but the 49ers flexed their muscle and proved to the league that they are a legitimate contender in 2019. I can’t wait for the 49er/Packer matchup to really show who is who in the NFC.

Oakland 17 Cincinnati 10

Our Picks: Oakland (W ) – Oakland -10.5 (L) – Under 48.5 (W )

Oakland definitely got the win they needed to keep pace for a playoff spot in the AFC. I figured they would put up more points than they did en route to a blowout win, but they had to eek this one out against the lowly Bengals. Cincinnati remains winless through 10 games and are on pace to not win a game this year and get the number 1 pick. I believe that would be the best case scenario for the Bengals who need a roster remodel to get this team heading back in the right direction.

Philadelphia 10 New England 17

Our Picks: New England (W ) – New England -4 (W ) – Over 45 (L)

I sure thought there would be more scoring in this game, but the result was what we predicted. The Patriot defense is proving that it is elite as it has been dominating teams all season long. It is a much different look for New England, as they have historically relied on Tom Brady and the offense to carry the team. Yet again, Bill Belicheck finds another way to win.

LA Rams 17 Chicago 7

Our Picks: LA Rams (W ) – LA Rams -6 (W ) – Under 40 (W )

Chicago still hasn’t found their offense, and their defense couldn’t do much more to pull this game out. The Rams were simply a better team in this game as their offense did what it needed to do, and their defense stifled the Bears. Chicago’s season is essentially over, but the Rams have a lot to play for. Los Angeles is on the outside looking in, but they can pave their own way back to the playoffs if they keep winning.

LA Chargers 17 Kansas City 24

Our Picks: Kansas City (W ) – Kansas City -4 (W ) – Over 52 (L)

Our Monday Night, Mexico City matchup was a pretty good one. Much lower scoring that I anticipated, but the players were pretty whooped in the thin Mexico City air. The Chiefs came out on top as we predicted, helped by a 4 interception night from Philip Rivers. Kansas City is still in the driver’s seat in the AFC West, but have some important games left on their schedule. The Chargers, on the other hand, will need a prayer and a miracle to make the postseason in 2019.
