If you look through our Week 2 picks, you will see that we are heavy on some of the underdogs this week. We are picking 5 teams to pull off upsets this weekend: Detroit, San Francisco, Minnesota, Seattle, and New Orleans. This could either pan out great for us and give us some fantastic returns, or it could end up biting us hard and putting us a lot deeper into the negative than we would like. But I guess that is what makes sports gambling so much fun. Here is our Top Upset and our Top Lock of the Week.

Upset of the Week

Minnesota Vikings (+3) over Green Bay Packers

Both teams won defensive battles in Week 1 as the Packers shut down Chicago and the Vikings shut down the Falcons. Though both defensive efforts were impressive I was more impressed with the Vikings performance. Not only was the Minnesota defense strong, but their offense wielded a very strong rushing attack. They will be challenged by Green Bay for sure, but Minnesota should be more successful than Chicago was in Week 1. I also believe that Minnesota had a tougher challenge as they went up against a high flying Atlanta offense. Despite the fact that this game is in Green Bay, I think the Vikings will pull this one out and take an early division lead in the NFC North.

Lock of the Week

Chicago Bears (-3) over Denver Broncos

Chicago enters this game with 3 more days of rest than this Broncos team. Chicago played on Thursday night and Denver wrapped the week up with the late Monday Night game. Both teams had tough starts to the season, but Chicago should have more to prove, as they are expected to make a playoff push in 2019. The only thing that could stand in the way of Chicago coming away with a win in this game is Vic Fangio. Fangio served as the Bears Defensive Coordinator for the past 4 seasons before being named the Broncos head coach. He is familiar with the Chicago system and should have his team ready to play come Sunday. That being said, I’m still going with the Bears in a convincing fashion to get back on track.
